Hassium
Hassium is a synthetic, highly radioactive element produced in laboratories in tiny amounts. Its atoms decay within seconds, so bulk samples have never been made; its metallic appearance and many physical properties are predicted rather than observed. Experiments have shown that hassium reacts with oxygen to form a volatile tetroxide, as expected for a heavier relative of osmium. It has no practical applications and is studied in research on the heaviest elements.
