Nihonium is a synthetic chemical element from the periodic table. It is a rare, silvery-white metal that was first created in 2002 through nuclear bombardment of bismuth. Ununtrium has no commercial applications, but it is used in scientific research to study atomic properties and in the production of transuranic elements.
