Palladium is a silver-white transition metal from the periodic table. It is a relatively rare element and is ductile, malleable and resistant to corrosion. Palladium is used in catalytic converters to reduce toxic emissions in automobiles and in the production of jewelry, dental alloys and electrical contacts.
